Now that my stay in the jungles is complete, my next destination is Tarcoles. My mom and I took a public bus down from the Central Region to the Pacific Coast. To read more about surviving public transportation in Costa Rica go to our story http://www.costaricaviews.com/surviving-public-transportation-in-costa-rica/ .
I arrived at the Jatropha plantation, Green Acres, owned by Eduardo Acosta.
My tour of the plantation was on horseback. My friend Nicole Acosta helped me get mounted on my horse. I had a great ride, but even with jeans and boots, I ended up with 25 chigger bites!
Eduardo Acosta’s Jatropha plantation is about 80 hectares. There are several processes to convert Jatropha seeds into biofuels. One process my father’s company ARA uses, I have already blogged. http://elizabethssecretgarden.blogspot.com/2010/02/biofuels-from-jatropha-in-costa-rica.html
This is the tour that Eduardo Acosta gave me when I toured his Jatropha plantation, Green Acres.
Ouch!
